It was even more noticeable when I flew it over on Monday on the way to Rome.
We had to attend a more sheltered harbour for the night on the island of Sipan. This was not on the initial itinerary but was a little, less touristy town where I attempted some arty photography.
On Thursday where we boarded a coach for Ston so went to the mainland town of Slano we had to keep to sheltered waters. Ston is famous because of its salt pans producing a lot of salt in the original approaches and we were given a talk then we climbed part of the "Great wall of Europe".
Where we had to give the yacht we chartered back on Sunday we sailed across the biggest seas of our journey back to Split. Again we had a town tour, therefore I learnt a week earlier although I'd wandered in the town by myself. Probably the worst of the town's long history was in the siege from October 1991. Happily most has been restored.
We desired a drink in town afterwards. The coach took us to a liqueur and wine tasting. For which the place is also famed, afterward it was on to an oyster tasting. I am told they were not up to Bluff oyster standards but still they were fairly great.
Before travelling to the airport on Monday for the afternoon flight it was time for a final dinner and sleep aboard.: The best way to rent sailing yachts in Croatia?
